Construction Starts on Intron Technology Research and Development Testing and Validation Centre

 (21 August 2019, Hong Kong) – Intron Technology Holdings Limited (“Intron Technology” or the “Group”; HKEX: 1760), a fast-growing automotive electronics solutions provider in China, held a construction kick-off ceremony on 12 August 2019 for its Research and Development Testing and Validation Centre (“the Centre”) located at the advanced manufacturing industrial base of Shanghai Lingang Pujiang International Technology City. Attending the ceremony to witness the historical moment were business partners of the Group and government officials including Ms Luo Xi, Head of Sales Automotive, Distribution Management, Greater China, Infineon Technologies China, Mr Yin Zhiming, Chairman of Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales (China), Mr Yang An, Sales Director of SAIC Infineon Automotive Power Modules (Shanghai), Ms Chen Yi, Regional Manager of Microchip Technology, Mr Xu Shi, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Electric Group Electrical and Mechanical Institution and Mr Zeng Chenglong, Assistant General Manager of Shanghai Lingang International Technology City, and also representatives of subsidiaries of the Group.

The Centre is to be the Group’s largest automotive electronics laboratory in Greater China.  Spanning 4,000 sq.m., the Centre can accommodate more than 200 R&D staff and is expected to be completed and in operation in the first half of 2020. The Group will apply to the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) for Laboratory Accreditation for the Centre.  Commanding an investment of RMB150 million, Phase One of the project will be equipped with environment testing equipment including five E-Motor Test Beds, EMC Lab, Inverter Test Bed (Power HiL), BMS Test bed, Design Validation Test Bench, Temperature, Humidity & Vibration Chamber, Temperature & Humidity Test Chamber, Thermal Shock Test Chamber, Environmental Stress Screening Chamber and Salt Mist Test Chamber.

The Group will build the Centre according to the highest standards for laboratories in China, creating a testing and service platform for traditional automotive electronics systems, the MCU, VCU and BMS systems for new energy vehicles as well as connectivity systems. When it is completed, the Group will have an all-encompassing R&D work process system ranging from development, design and system integration to testing and validation, enabling it to shorten system and product development cycles and address the growing demand for safety and functional safety.
