Intron Technology’s NEV Solution Product Won International Award ISO26262 Vehicle Functional Safety Certificate

 Date:2020-04-07

(6 April 2020, Hong Kong) – Intron Technology Holdings Limited (“Intron Technology” or the “Group”; HKEX: 1760), a fast-growing automotive electronics solutions provider in China, announced that the Group’s subsidiary, Shanghai G-Pulse Electronics Technology Company Limited (“G-Pulse”), was awarded a certificate for ISO26262 Vehicle Functional safety – a certification for motor controller functional safety products that complies with the ANSI quality requirements by exida. exida is an internationally-renowned certification company known for its high-standard certification process. The Group’s awarded product is one of the automotive electronics controller products that passed the ISO26262 system standards most comprehensively in China. This certificate award is the first in China by exida for automotive electronics functional safety products. This certification once again demonstrates G-Pulse’s product life cycle functional safety capabilities from development and design to production management, as well as its industry-leading position, and the growth potential of its new energy electronic control business.

Compared with the global automotive industry, China had a slower start in the area of functional safety. Most of the Chinese companies (except for OEMs) are certified based on its R&D process management system, but not specific solutions or products, which are considered to be more complicated and have higher certification threshold.

Automotive safety  has been an important part of Intron’s R&D process in recent years. Intron was one of the pioneers who introduced the concept of functional safety in China. The Group’s awarded motor controller product was developed under the ISO26262 and Safety Element out of Context (SEooC) standards, which can be used in pure electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles. The product also supports the highest standard of ASIL C for torque safety in powertrain systems, and prevents personal injury accidents caused by malfunctioning of powertrain systems.

ISO26262 mainly includes:

Part 1: Definition;

Part 2: Management of functional safety;

Part 3: Concept phase;

Part 4: Product development at the system level;

Part 5: Product development at the hardware level;

Part 6: Product development at the software level;

Part 7: Production and operation;

Part 8: Supporting processes;

Part 9: ASIL-oriented and safety-oriented analysis;

Part 10: Guidelines on ISO26262

By winning the product certificate, Intron demonstrated its capability to satisfy specific standard requirements in Part 2 to Part 9 of the system, and its product functional safety capabilities in the areas of functional safety management, product concept design, product safety development, safety verification, and production safety.

Mr. Bentley Lin, Managing Director of exida Safety Systems (Shanghai) CO., Ltd, fully recognized Intron’s motor controller products and its comprehensive R&D lifecycle and said, “In the current operating environment with rapid interactive responses of multiple complicated automotive electronics, functional safety is dedicated for advanced R&D capabilities, development processes, technological management, and most importantly automotive safety and reliability. The certification proves Intron to be an industry leader in terms of technological level of electronic control systems development, as well as an outstanding company which emphasizes on automotive functional safety.”

As a hi-tech enterprise focusing on the engineering R&D, testing and validation, production quality control and technical services in all aspects of the R&D and production cycle of automotive electronics products, Intron has already developed a sophisticated engineering R&D system and product solutions meeting the requirements of ISO26262 functional safety standards. The Group’s system and solutions are able to shorten its OEM customers’ product R&D cycles and raise product reliability accordingly.
